Hello!
My name is Angeline Yang and I’m majoring in interior design with a minor in craft/material studies at VCU. Why interior design?
Why not! You get the opportunity to influence someone’s emotions when they walk into or view a space. Design has allowed me to realize that you need to keep up to date with the current trends and to take inspiration from everything and anything – no matter how miniscule it may seem.
Pratika Appaiah is a senior in the Department of Interior Design at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently the treasurer of the student IIDA board at VCU. Pratika is a painter, a concert go-er, and a self-diagnosed shopaholic. She is sure that the upcoming year of IIDA at VCU is going to be a very fun successful one and looks forward to meeting people within the design field.
My name is Hannah Stallard & am currently attending VCU as a full time Interior Design student. I am going into my 3rd year and feel that I couldn’t be in a better place than the ID department here at VCU. Being a military child and moving around over the years has made me realize design has always held an important part in my life. I have found myself needing to create the best interior environment I could while growing up in new houses every three or so years. My interests include Residential Design because home is one of the most personal places one can spend time in and is the best place to express your own taste & personality.
